Here's what the error log says.

I've got a Windows 7 64 bit computer with 32 gigs of ram a gtx 970 and an i7 2600k. Also have dual monitors if that matters. Let me know if you need more info

Thank you for the bug report, RecycledKaos.

Looks a bit like a problem with the Windows Media Player (this one is used for sound & music in IB2). Maybe reinstalling/updating your Windows Media Player might help?

I hope this works out for you, keeping fingers crossed.

Well I did have it uninstalled, although even after reinstalling it and making sure it was updated and then restarting my computer I'm getting the same message.

Sorry to hear that, the Media Player was my buest guess. Mayhpas trying to run the IceBlink2.exe as admin or in a compatibility mode (found under properties of the .exe when right clicking on it) could help, but truth be told, I as much guessing here as you.

Some googling revealed this:

One standard failure mode is running this on a 64-bit operating system. This is 32-bit unmanaged code, you would indeed get the 'class not registered' exception. Project + Properties, Build tab, change Platform Target to x86.

That would mean I have to do the build process different, hmmm....

Just want to chime in here, because I have one computer at home, which I have never been able to get to run the program since the switch to IceBlink 2.

Have you updated your Windows 7 to the latest service packs? I think that is one possibility that could cause a problem, if you haven't run the updates. Or there might be compatibility issues with some DirectX files.

I am running IceBlink 2 on an office computer that uses Windows 7 with a 64 bit operating system.

Win 7, 64 bit, too, here.

The build process is set for "AnyCPU" in Visual Studio already, so should support 32bit and 64bit. Strictly speaking, I am using the engine and toolset .exe from the debug folder, but I guess taht is made with the build settings ("AnyCPU"), too.

I am gonna post links for two versions of the IceBlink2.exe here. They are build with different target architecture options (x86,x64) than the default one (anyCPU). As always, no warranties/no liabiliies - use at own risk:

x86:

x64:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nzwg3z2mk60qo ... 2.zip?dl=0

Please try exchanging these, one by one, against your existing IeeBlink2.exe and see if it makes a difference. At the very least this would rule out this potential source of trouble. Many thanks!

If both above alternative verions of the exe do not work, please try installing the latest Microsoft .NET framework on your machine (if you haven't already). Might be another potential fix.

Well the error log is not showing anything anymore. However the same microsoft popup shows up and tells me.

Files that help describe the problem:
F:\USERS\Conar\AppData\Local\Temp\WERFE7.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml
F:\USERS\Conar\AppData\Local\Temp\WER1593.tmp.appcompat.txt
F:\USERS\Conar\AppData\Local\Temp\WER164F.tmp.mdmp
