Next beta (tonight or tomorrow) will have the first defeat condition implemented (time limit - you must win within x rounds or the battle is lost). Also quite a few improvements to the player front end ui for victory terms, defeat terms and modifying battle rules. Finally squashed a bug that could occur on defeat of the party.

Please let me know if you have ideas or requests for more victory/defeat terms or battle rules(modifiers).

Some more ideas:

1. Victory condition(s):
- conquer loaction x,y (occupied by conscious pc at at start of round) (maybe up to three locations, either cumulatively or alternatively required)

2. Defeat condition(s):
- (fail to) hold location x,y (occupied by conscious pc at at start of round) (maybe up to three locations, either cumulatively or alternatively required)

3. Battle modifier(S):
- double sp cost for all spells
- double sp cost for all traits
- additional hp cost for spells (as sp cost)
- additional hp cost for traits (as sp cost)
- all area of effect spells/triats/weapons only effect one square
- all spell ranges reduced to 1 (if not self/zero anyhow)
- all trait ranges reduced to 1 (if not self/zero anyhow)
- all weapon ranges reduced to 1 (if not self/zero anyhow)
- melee attacks cause x hp damage to attacker
- ranged attacks caase x hp damage to attacker
- each move causes x hp damage to mover
- healing spells do not work
- healing traits do not work
- healing items do not work
- every pc loses x hp each round
- every pc loses x sp each round
- every pc gains x hp each round
- every pc gains x sp each round

Working on conquer location(s) victory right now. Slow progress, but progress nonetheless :) .

Any progress is progress as far as I am concerned...I'm lucky to get an hour or maybe two a day to code :lol:

Yes, that's about the same for me (somedays more, then a few days nothing...).

Today was productive, so:

IB Beta v127 released - no liabilities, no warranties, use at your own risk:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/k4nj32yqipje1 ... 7.zip?dl=0

- conquer victory added (occupy up to three locations - all or one of them, depending on settings - with a conscious pc each at the start of a round to instantly win); uses the conquerLocation graphic to indicate the locations on the map (in addtion to giving their coodinates in log and message box at start of battle, like with all victory terms, defeat terms and battle modifiers)

IB Beta v128 released - no liabilities, no warranties, use at your own risk:

- fail to hold location(s) defeat added (hold up to three locations - all or at least one of them, depending on settings - with a conscious pc each at the start of each round to avoid instant defeat); uses the holdLocation graphic to indicate the locations on the map (in addtion to giving their coodinates in log and message box at start of battle)

I am quite happy with the existing victory and defeat terms.

The symmetry runs like:
- target (assassinate, protect)
- time (survive, limit) and
- location (conquer, hold).

Beauty here is that they all can be combined to create very specfic battle constellations - especially when paired with reinforcements, triggers placed on the battlefield and battle modifiers. I am really eager to see what author will create with these toys in the future :) .

I will focus on a few additional battle modifiers now (likely not the whole list from above; we can add more later, just gimme a heads up if you need one).

This is great! I know these battle victory and defeat systems has been a goal of ours and in the back of your mind for a long time (almost since the beginning of IceBlink they were discussed). It is great to see them coming to fruition. They should add some interesting encounters and seem easy for builders to implement as well. Great work Karl, much appreciated. I, as well, am eager to see what our creative community comes up with.
