Narrator and Cutscenes

The element of a narrator (like a dungeon master) introducing scenes, characters, chapters, passing of time, perhaps even commenting with some personality on choices and actions of the player (if the mod author likes such), anything virtually... is a very powerful tool. It can make up and actually easily overcome graphic limitations.

Still, it would be nice if the written text of the narrator could be complemented by sound (music, spoken lines, sound effects) and also picture. I imagine e.g. a full picture slide show shown in teh background. These pictures might support the atmosphere of the narration, especially as tehy are not bound to have the same look as teh agme world, but can be virtually anything in any perspective and with any degree of abstraction.

Therefore a tool/transparent script would be nice where narration sequences coudl be choreographed, including text, voice, music, sound effects and background pictures.

Same holds true for cutscenes actually using the game world graphics to tell a part of teh story (NPC icons acting on a certain map according to a script, while the player can watch them and read their dialogue).
