Just did my first 2d animations ever:-). Just a walk animation for the hero - basically two different frames. Very simple, but quite some fun. Great that IB supports this, will be lots of fun. The engine and toolset make it very simple to do this stuff now. I am really looking forward to have some footstep sound accompany this :-).

I see - it's not high priority stuff, especially as it takes time for the module author, too, to do all the extra drawing. Still, it's very nice to be able to spice up certain situations with select animations.

Yeah I think most of my npcs will be unanimated, except for probably an attack animation. Its a lot of work to give movement animations to all the npcs and creatures etc, although it would look ace if you had the time. I can imagine it being really useful in some circumstances where you want an npcs actions to be obvious though - eg, in a mine, you could have the npcs animated with pickaxes working the mine, which could add to the atmosphere. But yeah, not high priority by any means!

When fighting on a large encounter map (e.g. 32x32) the camera does not focus on the players or the moving NPC. This is no problem on a 16x16 map that is fully onscreen, but it's a little strange on larger maps: The player has to scroll around in order to find the characters and NPC. Would be good if the player character PC1 position would perhaps at least onscreen on start of battle automatically (if it would be centered on PC1 that might look strange again on smaller maps, especially if the pc1 is positioned near the border of the map)? Optionally some camera focusing on the actual playing piece whose move it is might be nice (then again it might make things too hectic with repeating camera shifts out of player controll). Perhaps only change camera if the actual playing piece is not on screen (no need to have it right in the center)?
