As it is now, the player is free to resize the IB window as he/she sees fit, but this can bring problems with screen layout (e.g. with author assigned command buttons) and the message log (which resizes with the window). I'd suggest disabling the free resize and instead give a set of window sizes/resolutions to choose from, possibly limited by the author, in addition to an option to play either full screen or windowed.

In addition to being perhaps a bit more professional looking this way, the text in the message log gets pretty tiny at high resolutions if the window size isn't "moderated" and I, for one, would want to have a set window size(s) in mind when designing my modules. It makes a big difference wrt to UI and maps if you're playing windowed with a moderately-sized window or full screen in 1920 x 1080 resolution. To have some author control over this would be grand, IMHO.

Also, and this is also a matter of opinion, I'd much prefer the map to be centered on the player's party (the PC token on the map), like it is in most games, and not be centered on the map's center like it is now.

Sooner or later we likely will have to think about characters /creatures actually having multiple states at the same time, e.g. "held" and "poisoned". Or perhaps the question is more where to draw the line between a "state" and an "effect"?

Would be cool if the adventure log could have a few more visible lines and eventually allow for an individualized font size setting, a little larger. I plan to use it rather often 8-) and this would make it more comfortable for the player/reader to follow what's happening right now.

Maybe an opened up script could make this modifiable (would involve changing the size of the lower screen border, too, I guess).

Modifying the log should be doable with scripts. Changing the height may be tricky because it might require adjusting the DX window after the device was created (which means the aspect ratio of the images will be smashed). I'll have to think about this some more. Eventually, having floating, adjustable, moveable and dockable UI elements/panels will fix these issues.

Having the font size of the log separately adjustable (e.g. via script) would be very helpful for starters. If changing the window size / height of log to allow for more log lines is a hassle, it's not that imporant at all. Really more a convenience thing than anything else. The player can scroll (and will have to scroll even with more lines any way).

Items in inventory might be alphabetically sorted; this way same named items would at least form clusters. Also, red highlights for non-equippable items in inventory screen might be very helpful, too, here (like in the shop screen).

Some camera dynamics in battles with scrollable borders might be nice. Like centering the camera on anactor when the actor is currently not shown on screen. I guess that's rather difficult though.
